Welcome to ReidDesigned.com
Hello. My name is Joanna Reid, and welcome to my on-line portfolio. The majority of work is print based and produced primarily for educational institutions and non-profit organisations... with some web content and online materials undertaken, for good measure.
For the past year, I have been working as a Dublin based freelance graphic designer. I obtained alot of my experience during my studies at The National College of Art and Design, Ireland, where I successfully completed a Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Visual Communication. My professional experiance has been gained through working for two years as part of a design team in a South Dublin based graphic design agency.
My interests include: scribbling (writing & sketching), painting, photography, illustration, and more recently Rubik's Cube, (I like puzzles).
N.B. On this site, you will find both my professional and personal work. You will also encounter some 'miscellaneous' posted articles that are art and design related, after all, sharing is caring.

Audit/Credit courses are studio based practical courses that are suited to students interested in developing a professional visual arts practice.
Audit and Credit courses offer students an opportunity to choose a structured course where assessment is optional. Two options are provided for students taking Audit/Credit courses:
Credit option: students submit their work for assessment by tutors and gain appropriate credit and may be used for accumulation purposes towards the completion of a Certificate, Diploma or Degree.
Audit option: students follow the full course programme but do not submit their work for assessment and do not gain credit for accumulation purposes.
RD Ballpoint Pen
Do you realise that every time you have to fill out a form or write down a note the pen you use makes an impression?... Figurately speaking that is.

Ballpoint pens are ubiquitous in modern culture. While other forms of pen are available, ballpoint pens are certainly the most common and almost every household is likely to have several. The fact that they are cheaply available and convenient to use means they are often to be found on desks and also in pockets, handbags, purses, bags and in cars — almost anywhere where one could conceivably need to use a pen.
In recent years, the ballpoint pen has become a popular art medium. The immediacy of results with little or no preparation compared to many other media such as painting and the relative low price of the pens makes it the medium of choice for many modern artists. Such artists include Juan Francisco Casas and New York-based Lennie Mace. Other artists, like Rezo Kaishauri, use ballpoint pens as part of their mixed technique. {W}
True, This! —
Beneath the rule of men entirely great,
The pen is mightier than the sword. Behold
The arch-enchanters wand! — itself a nothing! —
But taking sorcery from the master-hand
To paralyse the Cæsars, and to strike
The loud earth breathless! — Take away the sword —
States can be saved without it!
Richelieu: Act II, scene II.
